This Monday evening, members of Group 1 discussed the book “I Am Beola George” by Precious Jah Tucker, a young Sierra Leonean author. The novel tells the story of a young Sierra Leonean woman navigating her professional career, family, love, and friendships, while trying to balance it all in a still largely patriarchal society.
The discussion was lively and enriching, with everyone sharing their perspectives on topics such as female friendship, education, empowerment, patriarchy, personal fulfilment, self-confidence, and more.
Overall, the first meeting was a great success!
We are already looking forward to meeting again next month to discuss another equally interesting book. ![]()
