Support from renowned Sierra Leonean author Aminatta Forna for our Women’s Book Club

This weekend, we received 9 copies of Ancestor Stones by Aminatta Forna, generously donated by the author herself.

Originally from Sierra Leone, Aminatta Forna is an acclaimed writer known for her novels, memoirs, and essays that explore themes of identity, family, history, and resilience. One of her most celebrated novels, Ancestor Stones, tells the story of four women from different generations of a Sierra Leonean family. Through their personal experiences, the novel explores tradition, colonialism, love, and the changing role of women in society. It offers a rich portrayal of Sierra Leone’s culture and history while highlighting the strength and determination of its female characters.
